GIFTS OF GOD

Today, September 7th, was my turn to choose a theme for a papercrafting group, Crafters of Faith, on Splitcoaststampers. The theme is built on a Bible verse.  Here the inspiration and challenge I sent to my Faith-Filled Friends:

I have so many favorite verses; many from the Psalms, from Romans, Galatians and Philippians and went back and forth in choosing a verse for September. I finally settled on this verse that really sums up for me my faith:
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so no one can boast. For we our God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." Ephesians 2:8-10

As September is the month both my sons were born in I like to remember that these boys were two of the greatest gifts God gave to me! (The meaning of their names is Gift of God) So I would like you to create a card celebrating a birth or another great gift God has bestowed on you.

Here is my card:
I used a long time birthday candle punch on metallic silver cardstock and placed on it a panel I sponged with a variety of inks: Tim Holtz Distress Oxide "twisted citron", Tim Holtz Distress Oxide "lucky clover", Tim Holtz Distress Ink "peacock feathers", Memento "Nautical Blue on Recollections 110# white cardstock.  I then spritzed it and blended.  The Happy Birthday to You die is from Impress cards + crafts and I used silver glitter paper to die cut this sentiment.  A few sequins were added. The card base is Stampin' Up cardstock "Not Quite Navy".

On the inside of my card I stamped this sentiment from an old Stampin' Up set called "God's Blessings" with Hero Arts Ombre Ink in Mint to Green and added a few more sequins.

You can find many other cards created for this theme by going to Splitcoaststampers Crafters of Faith forum for a list of those participating.  Their creations may appear on their blogs or in their Splitcoaststampers gallery.

(I really need to find a way to update my blog to include a link to my fellow crafters!)

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!
